Otherwise, this is a very masculine fragrance that is ideal for men approaching on well into their thirties and beyond. Of course I am aware that Brut is not a high-class perfume and has been offered for small money since time immemorial. But the scent has been so violently reformulated that it reminds me exactly of the little waters that you sometimes encounter in distant countries in supermarkets or small shops between shampoo and dishwasher detergent. A certain basic DNA is already recognizable, but just cheaply rebuilt. Upon application, Brut is a deceptively strong fragrance. As soon as the overpowering head fades, only a glimmer remains and longevity is consequently poor. Wearers are unlikely to get more than one or two hours of fragrances before it expires entirely. The powdery foundation of sandalwood and vetiver is reminiscent of talcum powder, which can bring out vivid childhood memories. Many wearers of Brut often comment on the comforting and familiar imagery provoked by the fragrance. Perhaps because there were certain recipe adjustments, i.e. original fragrance dominatrixes have been softened today, who knows?
