Since then, we’ve seen a host of Dyson Airwrap dupes hit the scene, from those that stay fairly close to Dyson’s high-tech, premium grade finish such as the Shark FlexStyle, to more affordable and approachable options such as the Bellissima Air Wonder 8 in 1 Hot Air Styler. The styling tool is capable and the results are decent, but I wouldn’t say it’s offering the best value for money simply because it comes in cheaper than the Dyson Airwrap. The 2x6 cm nozzle concentrates and directs air for gentle and focused drying, preventing hair knots.The Bellissima Air Wonder 8 in 1 is uniquely well equipped for various hair types, allowing you to create dynamic and voluminous looks with its variety of accessories. While drying your hair, you can create sculpted curls, waves, a straight look or add volume and body from root to end, all with a single styling tool. And, since the curler attachment itself just doesn’t seem to work, you’d be better off splashing the cash on an Airwrap or a standard curler. At its thinnest point it’s about the same width as the Dyson Airwrap and Shark FlexStyle, but it’s a little shorter at 20.
The varying brush shapes impressed us straightaway, and they all have a ceramic and keratin coating to help hydrate hair, with the 32mm round brush creating straight or wavy locks. Earlier this week, we tuned in as usual to ‘Conversations of Inspiration’ podcast - a must-listen, for us, hosted by Holly Tucker – to discover that her interviewee this week was the lovely Ruby Hammer. For hair straight out of the shower, we went in with the drying nozzle to get it semi-dry, before styling with one of the three brushes.Upon opening up the box, we found a handy black storage pouch for travel or for keeping the attachments all together. I found that styles created using the volume-centric attachments held well in my hair, playing nicely with the direct heat and airflow from the wand. The ceramic and keratin coating protects the hair and the ions help to maintain hydration, minimising the frizz effect.
Plus, the styler streamlined our haircare tool setup in the same way a Dyson airwrap would, and the pouch is a handy inclusion to make storage simple. Meanwhile, if you have natural curls, use the Natural Curls accessory to dry them and enhance their beauty and elasticity.
Aside from this, it’s a decent enough, affordable alternative to other multi-stylers; but I wouldn’t say it offers great value for money on account of some of its performance and design issues. The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. The lack of a temperature control, plus the maximum heat of the styler being 392ºF/200ºC, means I have some serious concerns about how this dryer might impact the health of hair, especially if it’s used regularly and without careful consideration to hair protection and health.
